Who are we?

Wearable Technologies Limited (“WTL”), founded in 2014 and acquired by Canadian industry leader Blackline Safety Corp based in Alberta Canada in February 2021. Blackline wishes to rapidly expand WTL’s activities around the world. Blackline Safety is a publicly listed company on the Toronto stock exchange (TSXV: BLN). WTL’s solution, marketed under the name Eleksen Connected Worker Platform, consists of a number of wearable devices on each worker, wirelessly connected to a common cloud computing and storage system. At each individual worker there is local data collection, storage and processing, as well as near real time communication with other workers, on-site supervisors, and remote management. At the cloud there is remote data collection, storage and processing of individual and aggregate worker data, as well as integration with other business systems and 3rd parties. 

The Role:

The Company is looking to recruit two Test Engineers. These are full-time positions, hybrid working, based at our HQ office in Enderby, Leicestershire UK. You will report into the QA Manager. This is a manual testing role with wide scope to develop skills in both manual and automated testing. This role would be ideal for someone with experience in designing and implementing test automation. You will gain experience in testing hardware, firmware and software (full stack).

Responsibilities and Capabilities:

You will…

  • Execute manual test cases for both firmware and software
  • Help to define and develop automated test systems
  • Work with other teams to identify risks
  • Report bugs to the wider team
  • Work with and without direction at times
  • Work within an Agile environment
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies
  • Escalate blocking issues
  • Communicate clearly with a multidisciplinary team across departments
  • Help drive a culture of quality


You will have/be:

  • A passion for quality and strong desire to learn
  • 3+ years experience in a testing role
  • ISTQB Foundation
  • Experience developing test cases for complex systems
  • Experience with Bitbucket or similar SCM
  • Experience with cucumber or similar testing tools
  • Experience of testing web-based systems and associated tools
  • Experience testing embedded firmware and understanding of embedded systems


  • Experience working with IoT messaging systems (AWS IoT core, MQTT)
  • Skilled in Java and/or JavaScript and/or Python
  • Experience with Jenkins or similar
  • Experience with TestRail or similar Test Management software
  • Experience with Jira or similar
