Marks & Spencer to launch iPod suits for Fathers' Day
Avantex – Frankfurt am Main – June 11, 2007 - Eleksen Group plc. (AIM:ELG.L), the world’s leading provider of touch-sensitive smart fabrics for consumer electronics in apparel and accessories, today announces that Marks & Spencer, one of the U.K.’s leading retailers with more than 15 million store visitors a week, will carry a stylish new line of men’s suits for iPod by Bagir Ltd.

The Bagir suit jacket integrates Eleksen’s ElekTex® smart fabric touchpad technology, which transforms a lapel into a 5-button electronic control panel. ElekTek allows wearers to control functions of the iPod, including on/off, play, pause, track changes, and volume, simply by touching the ElekTex control pad, while keeping their iPod tucked safety away in their pocket. This fashionable yet functional suit is the ideal choice for today’s music-savvy and style conscious business professionals.

As the wearable technologies market evolves, Eleksen works closely with designers who seek to create stylish, new interactive apparel products. ElekTex is a breakthrough touch-sensitive textile which is lightweight, flexible, durable, and washable. Virtually undetectable once integrated, ElekTex transforms clothing into must-have-fashion for the billion dollar portable MP3 and mobile phone market. ElekTex has been embedded into a whole host of apparel from the likes of Ermenegildo Zegna and other high-end brands. However, Bagir is the first Eleksen partner to create electronic-enabled business attire.

“Marks & Spencer and the iPod are both part of everyday life in Britain. The suit for iPod is an evolution of this, by combining technology and clothing while still maintaining the integrity of both,” said Mustafa Dhar, Marks & Spencer suit buyer. “In the future, this kind of product is going to be even more important as we accommodate more technology in our lives. This product, with essential support from Bagir and Eleksen, is yet another example of how Marks & Spencer remains at the forefront of product innovation on the UK high street.”

“We continually seek new ways to fuse fashion and technology,” said Robin Shephard, CEO of Eleksen. “Partnering with Bagir and its renowned brand of tailored suits is a perfect fit. Moreover, Marks & Spencer offers its customers products from responsibly sourced suppliers and has a rigorous vetting process for marketing new goods. Having their stamp of approval is simply fantastic.”

“There is always a strong market for consumer electronic goods,” said Moshe Gadot, director of global development and marketing with Bagir, Ltd. “What appealed to us about ElekTex is the ability to seamlessly incorporate this lightweight fabric into apparel without impacting the style and clean lines of the clothing that we produce.”

The Bagir line of suits will be sold through Marks & Spencer stores across Britain for £149.
